On the Stolzfus farm the coops where the hens lay their eggs are moved every day. This method of rotational grazing disperses the manure and is an elegant solution to nitrogen runoff problems if the farmer has enough available land. In this case it is a win-win-win because the chickens are treated more humanely, the land is fertilized in the proper amount, and the farmer, who doesn't have to buy fertilizer, can also sell the free range eggs for a premium.
