Monday, September 22 is World Rhino Day, a time to celebrate the five species of rhino and unite people and organizations around rhino conservation. Amazingly, people still think rhino horns have curative powers, resulting in the senseless killings of these magnificent animals. This day was started to debunk these myths and diminish the demand for rhino horn. This rhino was one of many we saw on our first visit to the Sabi Sands area of South Africa.
