Photo by @Tim Laman. A White-breasted Nuthatch comes in for a landing at the bird feeder in my Massachusetts back yard. At this time of year, the birds are working hard to put on some extra weight before winter and visiting the feeder frequently, giving me good subjects for equipment testing and keeping my reflexes honed between shooting trips. This bird moves so fast you never really see it with it's wings outstretched with your eye.
