To get to the Wave, you need to take a 3 mile hike in the open desert through rock and sand and undulating hills. The payoff is a colorful sandstone formation that offers seemingly endless photographic opportunities. The Wave is located on the Arizona/Utah border in the Coyote Bluffs area of the Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness. Access to this area is limited to just 20 people a day through a permit system. Photo by @awc007
