Madame Berthe's mouse lemur, the smallest primate on earth (30 grams, or 1.1 ounces!!!!), hunting for insects in the Kirindi forest, the only place it lives. Lemurs can only be found in Madagascar, but in an astonishing diversity of more than 100 different species. Many of these unfortunately have become very rare, to the point of danger of extinction, mainly due to massive habitat loss, and hunting in some cases. This amazing creature was a chance encounter in the middle of a 5 week road trip all across Madagascar, where I am documenting chameleons, hoping to draw some attention to conservation needs and potential on the amazing island of Madagascar.
