Technology #behindthescenes of #MyanmarClimb. 230 unique instagrams were posted from the remote jungles and high mountains of Myanmar. We used a Thuraya IP satellite modem powered by the sun through a @goalzero #Yeti400 lithium battery, and our cameras and iPhones for all the shooting and writing. Nothing was easy about this process. Deep in the jungle valley, we could barely pick up the satellite signal. Every post "failed" ten times before it worked. And throughout the whole trip and at basecamp, the constant weather made it nearly impossible to keep our camera gear and the sat modem charged. Sure, some people prefer to find solitude and escape technology on their expeditions. But for this group, we are storytellers and Instagram addicts at heart - so happy to be able to share the adventure.
