What were your biggest lessons of 2014? What were your peak moments of the year? Don’t get stuck dredging up the past, but look back long enough to integrate the learning. There is a lesson in everything if you open your eyes to the divine wisdom all around you.  I had a busy year in 2014: I wrote my third book (due out this year!) to be published by Shambhala, joined @beachyogagirl to host monthly IG challenges, released a whole new series of online videos on @codyapp traveled to almost 40 different cities in service of yoga (did handstands at most of them!), accumulated over 100,000 air miles, broke 200,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel and that’s the just the tip of the iceberg. But my biggest struggles have always been personal, not professional. There isn’t enough space on IG for me to write in the caption all the big and small emotional battles that were won or lost, but let me share one: I learned how to take full responsibility for my own emotional well-being in a much larger sense than I ever thought possible. Whereas so many times in my life I waited for the world or, more often, one particular person to change (and blamed them for not changing) before I would feel better the lesson I learned is that there is no happiness outside of myself and that I am the one who has to change and fill up myself from the inside if I want to be happy. While I thought I understood this before I really got it this year in so many different forms and I’m grateful for the lesson. Each time you learn something on the journey of life let it lead you down the narrow road home to the center of yourself. That path is eternal because the true self is infinite. #BeStrong #practiceandalliscoming #onebreathatatime Photo by @ifilmyoga
