In the summer months during buffalo calving season, this lioness saw an opportunity for an easy kill and took it. "It's never easy to sit and wait for the lions to attack another animal. The only way I can protect myself is through the lens. The lens diffuses the emotion until you stop taking the image. Then you watch the moment again and have respect for the life. Instead of celebrating I say 'I got the shot'.
