Eleven-year-old Eric Burdell started riding about three years ago. “What I enjoy most is just the feeling you have when you’re going, you know, 70 miles an hour up to a jump and then launch about 60 feet in the air.” But are extreme sports safe for kids? @shaughn_and_john produced a series of videos for #NYTMag profiling young, and exceptionally accomplished, athletes.
