I've recently rediscovered my love of scuba diving. I am not sure why I took a hiatus for a couple of years...I guess life just gets in the way sometimes. But I had 6 dives when I was recently visiting #Tonga and now I can't stop thinking about the completely free feeling of floating in water and looking at different forms of life you never see if you don't stick your head below the surface. In particular, I've developed a new love of photographing underwater while diving. It is a hard skill and requires a lot of practice. I felt like a monkey trying to operate a complicated machine the first time I dove with this ridiculously expensive underwaterhousing contraption I bought for my Canon 5D Mark 3. But then it started to click, figuratively and literally. And now I want to keep taking photos underwater while diving. I shot this in the Vava'u islands in Tonga on a dive trip. My Tongan dive buddy and I were doing a lot of scouting in and out of caves and I saw this heart shaped opening that I thought was really cool. I asked my dive buddy to stop in the middle so I could take a photo. Now, I look at this image of a heart-shaped cave opening and think that maybe I subconsciously knew I was falling in love with diving again when I took this photo. Either way, I feel like it will not be long before I am floating in crystal clear water again discovering new things in a different world. Photo by @magnumji
