"You went vegan? But Where are you going to get your protein?" The building blocks of protein are called amino acids. There's 20 different kinds and contrary to common belief, they're found in far more than animal sourced meats and products.
In this country, we (myself included) have been brainwashed into assuming that the only way to "get enough protein" is to consume large amounts of eggs, milk, poultry and beef. When in fact, there are dozens of plant based sources that offer the body all the protein it needs without all of the cholesterol and high levels of fat that animal products typically contain.
Furthermore, these plant based protein sources are loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help our bodies' regeneration and detoxifying processes. In my eyes, that's some two-birds-one-stone kind of deal.
Eating the protein that my muscles need to repair and grow while I'm loading up on nutrients that my cells utilize to heal and renew my body #atthesamedamntime.
Where do I get protein?
Lentils, beans, quinoa, millet, hemp seeds, chia seeds, barley, broccoli, pumpkin seeds, edemame and other soy products, bean sprouts, and dozens of other organically grown plant based foods.

The question shouldn't be about where I'm getting my protein, but rather about where you're getting your nutrients.
