If you’re seeking our yellow-rumped caciques at Amazonia, you’ll probably hear our male before you spot either bird in the canopy. These social and territorial birds are very vocal, and in the wild different breeding colonies even have different song dialects. Our male is spending much of his time showing off to our female and singing —though his singing is more raucous than melodic. These beautiful birds build hanging nests, but we don’t have any hanging from the canopy quite yet.
