I haven't wanted to post about this because it was too overwhelming. But I doubt I'll ever be ready. I wrote about it in my newsletter (too long for IG). Now I'm sharing here too BC it's just too big not to.

Many of you know that my Dad’s health hasn’t been so great. My family got some devastating news about his health while I was gone. From that moment forward all I could think about was being home. And now I’m home. It’s not that there is anything I can really do from here. Well, nothing to do but tell my Dad that I love him and be there for Mom while she faces this hardship. And maybe that’s enough. All healing is in God’s hands, which gives me faith and immeasurable peace. And I cannot thank you enough for all your prayers, comments and messages of support. Family is so important. Love is the only thing that’s real in life. The love we share is the only thing that really survives forever. My Dad and I didn’t always see eye to eye. There was never a doubt that we loved each other because we’re family. But we used to butt heads a lot when I was in high school. I never thought I was good enough in his eyes, but I also wasn’t interested in changing. Looking back I can see that all the conflicts we had were really just about him looking out for me, him wanting me to be happy and him loving me the best way that he could. When I was a little girl, I used to ask my Dad how much he loved me. When he said, with my whole heart, I asked him, “Do you love me more than the whole universe?” And he, of course, said yes. This kind-hearted man who raised orchids and dobermans and would have done anything in the world for me has loved me my entire life, more than the universe. And he’s not gone yet, but I miss him already.

So take this chance today to go out and be resolved with a friend or family member. Don’t wait for them to say the perfect thing to forgive them and love them. Life is so short and it could end in an instant. Let your heart grow so big it can hold the whole universe in it. Love so fierce and full that you can hold all the good and bad without needing to make it all perfect. Love so magnificently that your love is bigger than the whole universe.
