The trip is timed to coincide with the silver salmon run but as well as bears fishing, or fighting over fish there’ll also hopefully be bears with spring cubs, bears clamming in the estuary, bears grazing in the sedge meadows and mothers with cubs or yearlings. To witness this extraordinary moment remains one of the undoubted highlights of my life and so if seeing bears in the wild is on your bucket list then this is a quite sensational place to visit.
