The @nytimesfashion critic Vanessa Friedman writes that, in the process, #MichelleObama solidified her legacy as “perhaps the most adept and successful practitioner of the art of political dressing that any administration has seen.” The first lady’s decision to wear an Atelier @versace_official gown went far beyond being an ambassadorial nod to a guest country’s talent, Vanessa writes. “The dress, after all, was made of rose gold … chain mail.
