? for awesome finds in nature! These @smithsoniansms marine science summer campers found a massive horseshoe crab molt while exploring #mangroves in the #IndianRiverLagoon! Horseshoe crabs look prehistoric because these “living fossils” have been on Earth nearly unchanged for over 350 million years. As they grow, they shed their exoskeletons, which can sometimes be found by lucky beachcombers.
