My sacred space and Monday remedy: a good notebook, pen and a little sage too. And a short story to boot. So I was completely taken with the @ystudiostyle collection after Brad at @penaddict was kind enough to introduce me to this brand and the wonderful @koheziamsterdam shop knowing it would fit my taste perfectly (not to mention he patiently answered my many questions). The black Ystudio portable fountain pen (medium nib) became one of my very favorite writers, so I made the jump and added this copper version to my collection in a fine nib. I've inked it up, tested it out and I am already so smitten with it. For those who have asked, the nib is a stainless steel Schmidt size 5 that has been specially treated by Ystudio so it writes extra smooth. And it is definitely that. So wonderfully smooth. The ink flow is perfect - not dry at all and not a gusher but lays a perfect wet line. I have written with the black pen for long periods daily and it keeps up well and is very comfortable in hand. Also, the metal smell is the least pronounced of any metal pen that I've used and even the copper is mild considering, which makes me like this even more as I'm not fond of metal smells. I can't wait to break this new copper version in more and see how the patina develops on it.
