Paul Shaffer moved to New York in hopes of becoming a great session musician. Instead, he spent more than 30 years alongside @letterman as his wisecracking sidekick, keyboardist and bandleader on @nbc’s “Late Night” and @CBS’s “Late Show.” But now, the 67-year-old musician is about to step out with his first major post-TV project: a self-titled album made with his longtime colleagues, who are once again calling themselves the World’s Most Dangerous Band (as they did on @nbc). The album, full of the 1960s-era rock and soul, may not be the kind of music that moves units by the millions anymore, Paul said, but then again, what does? “It kind of takes the pressure off,” he told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. “‘Well, nobody’s selling records unless you’re Adele.’ I’m not Adele. Nobody expects me to really sell this thing.” @sirerecords plans to release the album on March 17. @heislerphoto photographed #PaulShaffer in the musician’s Manhattan apartment.
