Here, several bachelor male monkeys give chase to a harem-leader male during a takeover attempt at the Guassa Community Conservation Area in #Ethiopia. The structure of gelada society means that not all males will get a chance to reproduce, and those that do have usually toppled the reign of a previous harem leader in a vicious fight. Although relatively infrequent, these battles can last for hours, or even days until a victor emerges.
