The flat peak of Mount Hachimantai straddles Iwate and Akita prefectures in northern Japan. The area is dotted with marshes, and when the snow melts in spring, Kagaminuma Pond takes on the spectacular shape of a giant eyeball!
The Hachimantai Dragon Eye can be seen from late May to mid-June each year. Be sure to come by!
