船に泊まりつつ移動し、島から島へのアイランドホッピングが続きます。島への上陸にはパンガと呼ばれるゴムボートを使います。朝のうちにカメラに収めたのは、イサベラ島の西岸プンタ・モレノのウミイグアナの群れと、コバネウのつがいが巣を守っている光景。その後、船は東岸を北上してウルビナ・ベイの砂浜に。ここでゾウガメを探すも発見できず、そのかわりに藪の中を這い回る丸々と太ったリクイグアナに遭遇し、大きな巣の前で撮影しました。

We slept and traveled on the ship, hopping from one island to another. To disembark on an island, we used a rubber boat known as a panga. During the morning, I managed to snap with my camera a mess of marine iguanas in Punta Moreno, located on the western coast of Isabela, and a pair of flightless cormorants protecting their nest. Afterward, the ship headed north up the eastern coast to the sandy beach in Urbina Bay. Here we were unable to search for or find any giant tortoises, but instead we came across some chubby looking land iguanas creeping around in the bushes. I was able to take photos of them in front of a large nest.
