Sun Parakeets (Aratinga solstitialis), also known as Sun Conures, pair up for life. Before mating, they’ve been observed to be extremely affectionate, feeding and intensively grooming each other. While nesting, the hen incubates the eggs while the male guards the nest. The pair shares parenting responsibilities when the hatchlings emerge, taking turns feeding and caring for their chicks for 7 to 8 weeks until they leave the nest.
