Looking out over the rooftops: this cityscape view of Brno in the Czech Republic by Bohumír Matal was painted in 1949 and forms part of the collection of Liana Posselt, a native of Brno who became captivated by the work of modern #Czech artists on her return to Europe after emigrating to Canada as a young woman. Thirty-five pieces will be offered in the context of our annual ‘20th Century Art – A Different Perspective’ sale, on view to the public from today, ahead of Tuesday’s sale.
