I’m honored to have one of my Photo Ark images of this beautiful secretary bird featured on the cover of this month’s @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine. Secretary birds, like this one photographed at @thetorontozoo have very long legs, a curved beak, and vibrant orange patches around their eyes. These birds, among many other species, are suffering great losses in their population due to development of their habitats and disturbance by humans. The story Why Birds Matter in this month’s @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine explores the significance of birds and why these magnificent creatures deserve to be protected.
