It's a lamp.?Designed in 1999 by Gaetano Pesce, this "Moss Lamp" in our @cooperhewitt is made of white silicone threads that enclose the red plastic base, which houses a light bulb and cord.
The surface is warm, soft and flexible, and the hazy glow of the lamp reminiscent of a snow globe.
Pesce is Italian architect and designer who has been creating furniture and industrial design objects since the 1960s. For much of his career, he has been developing products based on his experimental work with resin and synthetics.
