More than 30,000 people crowded into a square adjacent to the Kremlin, in freezing temperatures, on March 18 for a victory concert marking Russian President Vladimir Putin's re-election win. #Putin rolled to a crushing re-election victory for six more years in office—and there had been no doubt he would do so. Putin faced seven minor candidates and his most prominent opponent had been blocked from the ballot. Observers and individual voters reported widespread violations including ballot-box stuffing and forced voting, the Associated Press reports, but the claims are unlikely to dilute the power of #Russia’s longest-serving leader since Josef Stalin.
