#StopSucking ? Today I want to encourage you to make a small #sustainableswap and give up plastic straws ??‍♀️ Why? Plastic is polluting our oceans and straws are one of the main offenders. They’re in the top ten most common items to be found washed up on beaches across the world. This is how many I picked up in a single metre of beach here in Bali ? Straws in the ocean can be ingested by marine life such as turtles, whales, fish and birds. This can kill them ? In the US alone 500 MILLION plastic straws are used every day. Every. Single. Day. ? So what can you do? ➡️ Ask for your drink without a straw ➡️ Purchase your own reusable straw to use instead. These are easily available online ➡️ If you see a straw on the floor, in a park or at the beach - please pick it up to avoid it causing further harm to animals ?➡️ Instigate wider change. Does your workplace or favourite cafe use plastic straws?
