Photo by @michaelclarkphoto // In 2014 and 2015 I was part of an expedition that went deep into the Amazon rain forest to document recently contacted tribes in the Valle do Javari region—a protected region in the northwestern corner of Brazil that contains the largest number of uncontacted tribes on Earth. It was an incredible adventure and experience and it was quite possibly the most dangerous trip I have ever been on. That adventure was the brainchild of @celinescousteau . I have been holding back most of the images from this assignment until the documentary film is released and cannot wait to share them. This assignment was like stepping back in time a thousand years and visiting several indigenous communities who are struggling to survive an onslaught of diseases, loggers and miners, as well as the modern world looking to take over the land they have lived on for centuries. These images will very likely be some of he most memorable of my entire career. These three are just a few images culled from over 20,000 images shot on this project. Much more to come once the film is released. #brazil #valedojavari #indigenoustribes
