It’s been really fun watching Mazzy initiate Harlow into the joys of this free range weekend. She’s instructing her where to sit on the boat, what hand signals to use when tubing, and why it’s totally cool to run around barefoot. As for Harlow, she might be the youngest one on this trip but she is totally holding her own. She’s befriended the older girls, trash talked with the boys and stayed up as late as the adults. I even overheard a conversation amongst the kids turn to politics and listened as Harlow voiced her opinions (simplistic as they are) with complete confidence and stuck to them. It made me so proud. I always think of Harlow as a shy kid who needs a warm up period to let her personality out, but I think she’s changing.
