Most governments don’t run their own tech conferences, but Singapore does! Why? Because our ambition is to become a Smart Nation – using technology to meet our people’s future needs and improve their lives.

In the government, we are developing strong engineering capabilities and nurturing a deep engineering culture. We are building organisations like GovTech and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), investing in our people, giving them the right skills, experience and perspectives, and empowering them to make a difference.
Recently, a Singaporean working overseas tweeted me to say that she hopes global companies will build more engineering offices here, as she wants to come home! I told her we are creating job opportunities for tech talent here. I hope that she, and our other overseas tech professionals, will come home to take them up. #techmetosg :) It is an exciting time for our tech industry. I hope that talent from here and around the world will rise to the challenge, and join us as we strive to become a lean, agile, and digital Government, and a Smart Nation.
