Photo by @Gerd Ludwig. Today people across the globe commemorate Kristallnacht (Crystal Night), also known as the Night of the Broken Glass.

Between dusk of November 9 and dawn of and 10 November in 1938, more than 1,400 synagogues or prayer rooms, innumerable Jewish homes, shops and cemeteries were destroyed across Nazi Germany and Austria. Jewish people were killed or arrested to be sent to German concentration camps.
The Holocaust Memorial in Berlin,  officially known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in the German capital. The sculpture as a whole represents a supposedly ordered system that has lost touch with human reason. Seen here from a rare vantage point, the memorial produces a confusing and uneasy atmosphere for visitors.
