Outside a diner, a crowd milled around under curls of cigarette smoke. Women accessorized their outfits with pillbox hats and pearls, illuminated by the glow of a storefront window rather than a smartphone. Neon hues glistened off the wet sidewalks and extravagant cars. These scenes, our photographer @heislerphoto writes, resembled one city block’s worth of mid-20th-century #americana. But instead, they were actually the stunning handiwork of the creators and the behind-the-scenes magicians of @maiseltv. While period pieces are nothing new, the attention to detail on this show transcends the usual nostalgic kitsch. It continues in its 2nd season, which premiered on @Amazon on Wednesday.
