Mikhail.... couture....mysterious... #silverfox . Did you know that the silver fox is one of the two natural colors of the red fox you would find in the wild? The red and silver color are natural... and of course combinations of the two. The silver fox can also be called melanistic. . Mikhail, as some of you might remember, came to us with Viktor and Maksa. We originally decided to bring two foxes from the Russian fox farm project to our center, but one week prior to them being imported, we were asked if we would like to purchase Mikhail as well. The Russian domesticated foxes are not inexpensive, and with starting a non-profit... funds were limited... but we knew we couldn’t leave him behind... we did a Gofundme and received about 1/6 of the cost.... but we just couldn’t leave him behind... . We decided to call him Mikhail after the famous Russian Ballet dancer mikhail baryshnikov.... as he was so beautifully graceful!! And... well... he defected to America ?? Mikhail is the sweetest fox we have with other foxes... he loves playing with everyone and doesn’t start trouble (like that Viktor).... . We are certain we made the right decision bringing him into our family.... and can’t imagine the pack without him!! .
