MY DIET & NUTRITION HABITS From your questions, it looks like the two highest topics of interest are my diet & abs. The two do go hand in hand, but I will start off more specifically with what my diet looks like. To preface, I am by no means an expert on nutrition. I majored in human biology at Stanford, and continued to study and do my own research after I graduated, because I’m really into longevity, optimal performance, & nerdy stuff like that. I have self experimented a lot with diet over the last 5 years while playing professionally. Looking back, I tried plenty of strange ideas and ate a lot of weird sh*t. But I constantly learned through the process, and cultivated a greater nutritional understanding and philosophy that works for me. And I am still learning. I will always be open to new ideas, always evolving and tinkering with my beliefs. Additionally, I recognize that what works for me is not for everyone. Every person is genetically unique, has their own lifestyle & resources available, and is just fundamentally different. Diet is a personal thing. You have to try things out, see what you like, and make your own adjustments. Just because I do it, doesn’t mean everyone should/can do it. Lastly, one of the greatest pieces of advice I can give is to learn about nutrition on your own. Find out what happens in your body at a cellular level when you eat. Learn about the significance of your hormones. Be curious. Ask questions. Because greater knowledge of your body will lead to greater understanding of nutrition and how to use it. I drove myself crazy with questions, and spent hours researching for answers. Which just led to more questions, and then finding more answers. Like I said earlier, it has taken me YEARS of self experimenting to get to where I am. I don’t mind sharing what I do, but nothing can replace the understanding that comes with your own process of nutritional discovery. I will follow up with the 3 main parts to my diet & nutrition in my next 3 posts. (Sorry to leave ya hanging but it’s too long to post at once, and I need to go to sleep) #diet #nutrition #health #learningprocess #selfexperimentation #askquestions #teachyoself
