At today’s service in celebration and remembrance of Georgine, the Reverend reminded us of something important that will stay in my mind a long time to come. She said of Georgine, “She was someone who brought out the best in people. She inspired you to be a little bit better and to try a little bit harder to be the best version of yourself.” That was Georgine in a nutshell. She taught me to be a more patient person, a more compassionate person and to never shy away from sharing your opinion, if asked. It was a joy to have known her and her family (Her love for her family was steadfast and beautiful). I will never forget our time together. She had an impact on so many and to see how she’s inspired some of you here to start volunteering or working with people Georgine’s age and enjoying their company means so much. I know her kindness and generosity lives on in her family and I hope in some small way it can live on here through anyone who enjoyed reading about her and the time she shared with us. Thank you for loving our friend as much as we did and for sharing so many kind words and condolences over the past week. Today was sad but there were so many moments of laughter and happiness that I know Georgine would have loved. *They couldn’t get one of the candles to go out (after repeated tries) at the end of the ceremony and I watched a knowing smile spread through the crowd as we all thought, “That’s her.” ♥️
