【庭園の紅梅が美しい季節が到来】

この季節は三寒四温と言われ、寒暖を繰り返しながら季節はゆっくりと春へ向かっています。

八芳園の庭園も「紅梅」が咲き始めました。
やや紫みのある淡い紅色をしたその美しさから、
日本では「紅梅色」という色がうまれ、襲（かさね）にも使われるなど、昔から愛されてきました。
また「梅」には、これから咲き始める「白梅」もあります。
この「紅梅」と「白梅」の違いは、花の色の違いだけではなく、
実は枝の断面の色が「紅梅」は「紅」、「白梅」は「白」という違いがあります。
「梅」は、とても神秘的な花なのです。

This season is called “Sankan Shion(a cycle of three cold days followed by four warm ones)" and going slowly toward spring while repeating coldness and warmness. “Koh-Bai(red plum)” has started to bloom in the garden of Happo-en.
From its beauty with a slightly violet pale crimson color, in Japan, the color called "Kohbai-iro(red plum color)" was born, and
has been loved for long time such as being used for ‘kasane’, expression by combination of kimono.
And “plum” has also “white plum” which will be starting to bloom from now.
The difference between this "red plum" and "white plum" is not only the difference in flower color. Actually there is a difference of color in cross section of the branch, that is red for red plum and white for white plum.
“Plum” is very mysterious flower.
