French painter and filmmaker #FernandLger was born #onthisday in 1881. His paintings, murals, films and textiles are infused with the vibrancy of modern life and the rhythm of the metropolis. Léger invented a new form of Cubism and is regarded as a forerunner of the #popart movement.
