One Florida man managed to score a huge check from the IRS after submitting his self-prepared 2016 tax return. The self-described freelancer fraudulently claimed that he withheld $1 million in income taxes that year, which led to his big pay day. In reality, Blanchett received $2,098 in wages from one employer and $1,399 from another employer, according to a complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Though the massive refund check made it out the door at the IRS and into the man’s bank account, the taxman is taking steps to get the money back.
