Lydia is the definition of unapologetic courage, having faced police intimidation and even time in jail for defending women and children. “Journalists are their mirrors to the world, so that the world can see them and hear their stories. And that is why I cannot be silenced.” As a firm supporter of women’s rights and victims of assault, women like Lydia are my sheroes because they stand up for the most vulnerable.
