Then one after the other, they told me stories about miscarriages and years of trying with no success and what eventually worked for them. So much of conception, and even the first trimester, is shrouded in secrecy, which made it particularly difficult to deal with at work. Or left you tongue tied and deflated when someone asked, "So, when are you going to have kids?" In honor of Infertility Awareness Week, I am partnering with @NorthwellHealth to encourage open conversation about the struggles many of us have had (or are currently having) to get pregnant and bring a baby to term. My infertility story is not that long and has a very happy ending, so I had 16 women share their stories on my blog today. Each one is different but equally important to the conversation. My goal is to normalize these issues, prepare people for uncertain outcomes and make women feel less alone in their struggles. Link in bio.
