An accordion to match your sedan? This 1950s accordion took its cue from U.S. car manufacturers.
This ad for it is in our @archivesamerart's papers of industrial designer John Vassos, who created the Marchesa accordion for the M. Hohner company.
A wildly dated newspaper article about it boasts: "Now the American woman may have a gold trimmed accordion in seafoam green or burgundy red as well as the traditional black which is of course, also suitable for men."
The matte color scheme and gold trim was unusual for this period, when most accordions were covered in pearlized plastic and sparkly rhinestones.💎 #SmithsonianMusic
