Water and trees dominate #Congaree #NationalPark in #SouthCarolina. Waters from the Congaree and Wateree #Rivers periodically sweep through the park’s floodplain, carrying nutrients and sediments that nourish this unique ecosystem. Forested #wetlands, oxbow lakes and slow moving creeks provide ample habitat for fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, insects and other aquatic life. Despite all this life, when the water is still and the sunlight streams through the #cypress trees, it’s easy to find a peaceful solitude.
