Because I was able to hike across rough terrain and carry a heavy backpack, loading through my core without even thinking about it. I know it doesn’t sound like much but only couple of months ago I couldn’t even lift a kettle for fear of my core collapsing. I couldn’t stand up without paralysing head rushes and fainting. I couldn’t walk to the park without niggling pain in my abdomen. My body has come back fighting from the biggest challenge it has faced. This is my first intense work trip since my emergency surgery and I’ve felt so many moments of gratitude at it’s ability to simply carry me through life.
