What has surprised me the most (and made me super happy!!!) is to understand once again that the most genuine conversations are the ones you love the most. . Quite early in the adventure I realized that I don’t really care about meeting celebrities with a ton of media training, who will only share the message they came to share - with a publicist in the back to make sure we don’t go off track. It’s not a conversation - it’s an exercise in promotion. It feels a bit old, to me. . Of course, some are wonderful and real and make an awesome conversation - but overall, my team and I got bored a couple times, felt like we had been used and started to chose our guests with as much discernment as we could, even if some guests could be more obscure and less “look who we got!!!” . But what we’ve gathered from our stats is funny because our listeners are exactly the same. They don’t care about fame, they care about authenticity. Every other week, we publish our “Pocket PMF” which are candid conversations between my team or my friends and me and there is literally no subject we won’t touch. . These often perform the best. Isn’t that interesting, and cool, and freeing? .
