A couple weeks ago in London I got to shoot with these incredible humans for @theisleofparadise 🌟
Growing up, there was always pressure on me to “get a tan” because it would make me look slimmer... but I knew unless they were magicians it wasn’t happening! From that point on, I just felt like being tan wasn’t for girls like me. This shoot was the first time I’ve ever had a spray tan and tbh, I loved it. My skin was glowing, my teeth were whiter.... and of course I still look fat, but I’m a baby lil fat bronze goddess! 🌟
Working with @julesvonhep and the Isle of Paradise team gave me an opportunity not only to challenge my own misconceptions but to partner with a company who are focused on diversity both in their message and their makeup. I'm all for everyone living their best life and doing whatever makes them happy but I have personally never understood the appeal of tan skin or the weird social pressure to "get a tan". I feel like it's not that far off from telling a girl to smile or fat shaming. I prefer being pale and hate getting tan, and my skin tone isn't something people should be commenting on! I use all of the 50+spf, hats and cover ups any time I go outside to avoid a tan. Self tanner is 100% better than a real UV tan and this company looks amazing.. but I'm gonna love my skin as natural (and pale) as I can get it! And those that like tans can rock the self tanner, just please don't knock us that aren't into it ?

Tess youre beautiful, inside and out, And this is not a criticism what I’m gonna say, it’s just a question. “Do you think it’s healthy to be 150-200 pounds overweight?” You are gorgeous regardless, I was just wondering is all. You are beautiful just the way you are, just wondering about health wise is all????

@lilgirlgib I was going to ask if you have tried these tanning drops because they are so amazing and look who else loves them ❤️❤️❤️ hands down the best self tanning product I’ve ever used and ZERO smell & huge bonus that the company is so cool

I love tanning!! I wear a bikini too, IDGAF!!! Confidence and self love are the best. Although I should probably not spend too much time in the sun lol
