This may be my most important post ever. Over the past few years of travelling the world I have been interested in finding ways to unite or link cultures. I recognized that important words last over time & may not change even during long migration periods. My incling for researching this avenue came from the word "RA", in Maori language (te reo) it means sun, the same word Egyptians use for sun or sun god.
The Maori word for "supreme being" is "Io" pronounced "ee-o". This year I visited the Temple Of Zeus in Olympia & heard the story of a high priestess named Io. Her father Inachus was King of Argos & his brother was Oceanus a name familiar to Polynesians given we've thrived in Oceania for possibly 2000 years. But let's get back to ancient relations. In 2500bc a Messapotamian King named Naram-Sin entitled himself the very first God-King, creating a supreme ruling model then taken up by King Zeus. A God-King ruled supreme & could have as many lovers BUT Io refused Zeus advances & was named the first heretic (a word derived from Hera) Zeus turned Io into a white cow then jealous Hera set a gadfly upon the beast chasing it into the Bosphorus, the sea leading to Turkey. The same historical timeline sees the Ionian (Io'nian) people migrating to Turkey then Egypt where they built Heliopolis the first temple for worshipping the sun god (Ra) & Io, renamed by Egyptians as Isis supreme.
Yesterday researching Heliocentrism & Sun Worshipping cultures I discovered the word Utu prexists Ra as the sun god of Messapotamia circa 2500-4000 bc & also attributed Utu as the supreme justice, which clarifies the same meaning of the word in Maori.
Maori link to a migrational path set out by the earliest civilizations of mankind. In our oral traditional we have maintained these three very important words that define society -
Ra - Sun
Io - Supreme Female Being
Utu - Justice
I'm proud & excited to offer this information up for debate.
My Te Arawa ancestors shouted as they they first stepped upon the shores of Aotearoa, Haumi e! Hui e! Ta iki e!! Join together! Bind together! Let it be done!

@manubennett it’s so funny that ever since you’ve been sharing you’re discoveries on this, I keep seeing stuff about it on TV. It’s not always exactly the same but very similar to what you have been discussing. I love seeing what new things you’ve found out. It’s a topic that interests me. For my college honors thesis I connected similarities with Greek myths and religion with Hindu religion and myths from India, and modern Christianity. Are you by any chance writing a book with your theories? If not you should!

Manu, isn't history fascinating? I teach world cultures and it is amazing at the similarities in cultures. I don't know why people can't accept that ancient cultures were mobile. They intermarried, conquered each other, etc., but cultures and traditions were blended. My theory is that traditional historians balk at obvious connections like the ones you mention, because it brings up more questions. Plus it shakes up what we now know. It is inspiring to see you make connections as you travel our world.

Russia should be pronounced Ra-siya, for once we were the people of the sun, it's a core word for many words that have since been twisted - 'rab' means slave now, but olused to be 'worker for the sun/light', 'bog' is God, and 'dat' is to give - so 'rabotat' the modern word for work is actually RaBogDat 'sun/light' 'god' 'to give'.

You know that a part of the soldiers of Alexander the Great sailed east from India after the war between Greece and "India". These soldiers never returned. But even today, a lot of Polynesian words are the same as ancient Greek words. Maybe this information will give you some idea...?

Strange you should bring this up. I was reading about Maori creation stories just last night. Did you know that Australasians - Aborigines, Maori, The Papaua New Guinea folks, New Caledonia, etc - have the oldest Mitochondrial DNA on the planet?
