The notion of being alone has scared me since I was a child.
It’s ironic that for most of my younger years, I actually felt alone— despite having a loving family, friends, and a series of romantic relationships.
Even in my recent adult life, when I moved into this apartment, there were some dark days and nights.
Times where loneliness didn’t just creep in, but confidently walked through the door like an old, toxic, yet familiar friend.
“Come sit on this couch and let’s feel sorry for ourselves” she’d say.
“We have no one to love, and even worse, no one loves us.”
“Who am I without someone?” I’d ask... And to this I lovingly say, “Come home to yourself and let’s find out.”

You have to bring yourself out of your protected zone... find love and joy in doing things alone. Force yourself. Traveling alone helps, doesn’t have to be somewhere far away but little road trips or weekend trips. Learn to fall in love with it. It’s not loneliness, it’s just being alone and that’s ok sometimes. This way we can really invite someone in our lives for the right reasons- not bc we are afraid of being alone, but because we want to share our happiness with them. Nobody completes us, we complete ourselves. Please don’t forget that. You are awesome all by yourself💗

There’s a shift in perspective and life when we realize that our mission here is to “always come home” Not to a physical place, but our “Self.” To the essence that we were born into, away from who we grew up and were conditioned and molded to be. To rip away from the mental hold of who we FEEL we are, and go back to the essence God intended us to be. “Come home”💜 @nicole_mejia

Thank you for sharing. I’ve been practicing how to be alone but not feeling lonely. How to deal with anxiety of feeling rejected and forgotten. It’s powerful once you can step aside when the thoughts creep in and recognize that the feeling will pass, we are gonna be ok. 💙

This post💕 thank you for sharing and being so authentic and vulnerable! It takes courage and you are a true advocate not only for self but for women who are on their journey to loving self mentally physically!

Yessssssss boo, I learning the same thing right now. Fully embracing being single and a mother. Such a blessing to embrace yourself and the people that mean the most to me. We got this girl🙌🏽💕

Are we the same person?! Sometimes it feels like I am the only one who feels this way but I’m slowly trying to change my perspective. It’s hard for sure but necessary 💕
