本日は、PORTER OMOTESANDOにて展開中の写真集からKoto Bolofo (コト·ボロフォ)のLA MAISONをご紹介いたします。
Koto Bolofoは1959年に南アフリカで生まれ、イギリスを拠点にしヴォーグ、ヴァニティ・フェア、GQといったファッション誌の誌面づくりにも携わっています。
また、ベルリンやヴェネツィアの国際映画祭でショートフィルムを制作し、エルメス、ルイ・ヴィトン、ドン・ペリニヨンといった鋒々たるメゾンの広告キャンペーンを手掛けることでも知られています。
本日ご紹介する写真集は、エルメスの工房に立ち入ることを許された初めての写真家として、門外不出であった工房の内観や職人たちの作業風景を撮り収めた写真が、11冊のテーマに分かれてまとめられています。
Koto Bolofoは、Steidl社のゲルハルド・シュタイデル氏とも交流があり、Steidl社から出版されています。

Koto Bolofo was born in South Africa in 1959 and was raised in Great Britain. He has worked for such a prestigious publications as Vogue, Vanity Fair and many others. He made short films for Berlin and Venezia international movie festivals. He is also know for his advertisements for Hermes, Luis Vuitton or Dom Perignon.
This eleven books set is about behind the scenes of the Hermes’s workshops and artisans. He was the first photographer to has the access.
