I am 32 years old. I am a Leo. I now live in Dallas, Texas as of summer of last year. Growing up, I was back & forth between my family & families that took me in. When I lived with my mom, I lived in a single wide trailer with her (her boyfriend) my grandma (her mom) and my two younger brothers (which I was embarrassed about living in a trailer my whole childhood) when I lived with my dad, I stayed with my grandparents (his mom and dad) most of the time.. and I also lived with family friends who took me in when I needed a place to stay on occasion. As a child - I dealt with an alcoholic parent, abuse, inconsistency, neglect and betrayal. I've experienced and seen a lot at a very young age which ultimately forced me to grow up extremely fast. After a few attempts to run way from a life that I dreaded. I moved out when I was 16 years old, worked a bunch of jobs and put myself through school. Shortly after, like a lot of troubled teens, I got mixed up with the wrong crowd and the direction I moving towards was a dead end. If you look into my eyes you can tell I've been through a lot. I used to be so ashamed of where I came from, pulled the “why me” card a lot, questioning life, and honestly for a long time I felt hopeless. I share my story to tell you that if you have a broken past you can either grow from it or let it drag you down. Just because you came from some sort of hardship doesn't mean your life will amount to nothing. I bet if a stranger looked at me on the street, They would never known the struggle I've experienced to get where I am today. Remember that everyone has the power of choice. I chose to not allow my past to be an “excuse” but to use it to make me motivated, to make me a hungry and to make me strong.
