Photo by @andrea_frazzetta | “What's it like to live in the shadow of an active volcano?” Chasing the answer, I’ve been at work with National Geographic on the island Stromboli.
Stromboli, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, rises majestically in the middle of the sea north of the Sicilian coast. Around 400 people live at the foot of this giant, in a state of splendid precariousness. There is not a time in the day in which you could forget its threatening presence, but the energy that you can feel in this place is unique.
